“If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.”    (2 Chronicles 7:14)

From The Pastor’s Desk…….

I know that a number of you were affected by the flash flood that came through Beeston and the surrounding area last week. The Oasis’ Office, Number One, Willoughby Street, was flooded in the lower part of the building and we have had to remove the carpet tiles. As a family we were praying for the situation, from Stirling, as we watched the WhatsApp pictures and videos. Some local businesses were also affected. Let’s continue to pray for our Town as it recovers from this and begins to re-open under new Covid Rules.

Governmental decisions about re-opening society are being made now on a regular basis. We have just completed Elim’s Risk Assessment for re-opening churches. Thank you Wayne for all your practical help regarding this! Under the 2 metre rule we are able to have 40 people in the main church building – that is with the Extension doors open and the balcony open. Please continue to pray The Servants Council as we seek The Lord in moving forward, subsequent to receiving further advice from the Government and Elim’s International Centre Management Board.

Please continue to pray for Alan. He begins his fourth cycle of chemotherapy treatment this Thursday 25th June. Please pray specifically that he will not experience negative side effects. That God will keep him, and Alison safe and strong in Him.

Continue to pray for Janet, in Hospital, recovering from recent surgery, awaiting test results.

Please continue to pray for Baby Lucas, Emma and Phil. Pray that Baby Lucas continues to develop and put on weight.

A HUGE THANKYOU FROM THE YATES FAMILY FOR YOUR PRAYERS FOR ABBIE! She has been appointed as a Teacher, to a class of P1 children, Autism Provision.

Praise the Lord that Catherine and Phil are making progress.

Continue to pray all of those who are finding Lockdown especially difficult at this time.

I read this week about Corrie ten Boom. Her family built a false wall in her bedroom, behind which they hid Jewish families during the Second World War. They provided these families with a living area, helping hundreds to escape to safety. After the War, for many years Corrie travelled the world sharing The Gospel. After giving a talk Corrie used to hold up a picture, of what looked like a tangled mess. She would read this poem by Grant Colfax Tullar:

“My life is like a weaving

Between my Lord and me;

I cannot choose the colours

He worketh steadily.

Oft times He weaveth sorrow

And I, in foolish pride,

Forget He sees the upper,

And I the underside.

Not ’til the loom is silent

And the shuttles cease to fly,

Will God unroll the canvas

And reveal the reason why.

The dark threads are needful

In The Weaver’s Skilful Hand,

As the threads of gold and silver

In the pattern He has planned.

He knows, He loves, He cares,

Nothing this Truth can dim.

He gives His very best to those

Who choose to walk with Him.”

(Found at www.corrietenboomfonds.com)

She would then turn the tapestry around to reveal a Precious Crown!

There are times in life when we know that God is working in our lives but we see the mess behind the scenes and don’t always understand what we are experiencing. He takes every strand, what we perceive as good or bad, and weaves it into each of us – we are His masterpeice!
