From the Pastors desk – May 2014

Sometimes we plan ahead in God.  Other times we get surprised by Him.

A couple of weeks ago as I sought The Lord for the Sunday morning message I told The Lord that I was tired and needed to receive a special revelation from him.  My much loved Uncle Charles had recently been promoted into the Presence of the Lord.  He served as a Pastor in the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada for over 50 years.  Had been a spiritual Father to me.  An intercessor for my life ever since he heard of my conception.  We have had quite a journey together.  I am thrilled that he has gone to his reward and joined his wife, my Auntie Eileen and that Great Cloud of Witnesses – but I will miss him.  I miss our conversations.  I miss his laughter, fun and wisdom.

It was in this place that the Holy Spirit gave me the title of a series – “Walk with God.”

The first two messages are available on our website.

May 14th “Walk with God: God walks with us.”

Taken from Psalm 23 we see that we walk with God

(i) The Shepherd (v 1-2)

(ii) The Guide (v 3-4)

(iii) The Host (v5-6)

May 11th “Walk with God: The Angel of the Lord goes ahead of you!”

Looking at the three situations where that is proven

(i) Protection Promised – David (Psalm 34 v 7)

(ii) Battles leading to Insight – Daniel (Daniel 10 v 4-14)

(iii) The Way through the Wilderness – Moses (Exodus 14 v 19a)

This Sunday 18th is our monthly All Age Worship Service, this month the theme is “Attitude” and is being led by Jill Yates.

Sunday 25th May “Walk with God: The Lord Jesus Christ walks with you.”

Sunday 1st June “Walk with God: The Holy Spirit (The Paraclete) walks alongside you.”

Sunday 8th June – Pentecost Sunday “Walk with God: In the Power of God.”

That evening we will host a United Service at Oasis with local churches from NG9.
6pm for tea and coffee.  6.30pm the service on the theme Pentecost.
The Oasis worship team are leading the worship, Andy from Beeston Community Church is leading the prayer and Sonia, Curate from Christ Church Chilwell is preaching.

We are looking forward to all that the Living God will lead us into as we “Walk with God.”

With every good wish,

Nigel
