From the Pastor's Desk - Christmas 2008

We are quickly approaching the Christmas period. Next week, Wayne will be putting up the Christmas Tree in the Oasis! This will be ready for our Christmas Musical Afternoon for Evergreens & Luncheon Club Members and their Friends on Saturday 29th November.

We are having live animals at this year's Nativity entitled 'Welcome The King' 5pm to 6pm on Sunday 14th December. The animals include two skunks! Meer Cats! Tarantula! Snake and an Owl!! Everyone is welcome to this Nativity with a difference.

Sunday 21st 5pm to 6pm is our Traditional Candlelit Carol Service, to which, everyone is welcome.

Christmas Day, Pastor Nigel's favourite Service of the year, incorporating 'Pastor's Play Time!!' when he gets to play with children's toys.

This time of year is always hectic as we seek to fulfil commitments; schedules and get everything ready. Let's make sure to make time to 'Welcome The King' - Jesus!!!

Here is a prayer that may help us to do just that:-

"Jesus, Light of the world, please be The Light of my life.
I choose to put my faith in You.
Forgive me for all that is wrong in my life.
Thank You for dying for me, so that I might experience
a new life through You.
Thank you that You are alive, and that I can know You always.
Show me how to live for You from this day on - be my Lord.
Show me how to live with You - be my Friend.
Strengthen me, direct me, and touch the broken world through me.
I make You my priority, my purpose, my confidence, my defender,
my guide, my Lord, and my God.
Thank You for hearing my prayer. Amen.
