May The Lord Jesus Christ bless you.

From The Pastor's Desk - February 2009......................

2009 is the "Year of The Child" Celebrating Children in the Church and the fact that it is 30 years since the United Nation's Year of the Child.

At Oasis we love children - of every age!!

On Sunday 1st February 10.30am our All Age Worship Service has the "Year of the Child" as its theme. Many of our children and young people will be taking part as we recognise the Psalm 127:3a declaration "Behold, Children are a gift of The Lord ." (N.A.S.B.)

On Saturday 8th February we are hosting a Table Top Sale & Coffee Morning at Oasis 10am to 2pm with musical accompaniment from Wayne Pearce (Singer), Paul Carberry (Piano) and Nigel Yates (Euphonium). Requests will be played for a donation. It is all in aid of raising funds for 'Forget Me Notts' who, once again, are giving Easter Eggs to children and young people, in care, throughout Nottinghamshire. If you have anything to donate please bring it to our office at Number One Willoughby Street, Beeston 10am to 12 noon on a weekday or to the Church services this Sunday (1st Feb).

Bob Rideout is currently in Ghana, with The Bible Society, visiting young people and the ministry there responsible for giving Bibles to every Secondary School aged young person in Ghana. They are half-way through = 500,000 Bibles given away so far.

At Oasis we always seek to encourage children and young peope's involvement. So, we are thrilled to join in the Celebration of "The Year of The Child 2009"
