From the Pastor’s Desk – April 2017
We are approaching one of my favourite times of the year – Easter!
As we see flowers come into bloom, hear the birds singing their early morning chorus and enjoy lighter nights it is a reminder not only of spring but also of Resurrection.
For Christian believers it is a time to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus just like He said – “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day he raised again.” (Luke 24 v 7)
Jesus died on the cross NOT to pay the penalty for his own sins – because He did not commit any! But to pay the penalty for your sin, and mine! so that we might welcome Him into our lives – to receive His forgiveness, cleansing and new life. His direction for us as a new creation in Him.
On that first Resurrection morning the women, who found the empty tomb and the stone rolled away “remembered His words” (Luke 24 v 8)
May this Easter be a time when we “remember His words” to us!
With every good wish
Nigel
