“I will not neglect Your Word.”
There is so much soul food in The Word of God! Placed within the Bible, by The Holy Spirit, for every season, situation in life that we face. Food for our personal, family, and corporate lives.
Soul Food For The Battle:-
During His time in the wilderness, battling with the devil, Jesus declares, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
Soul Food For The Long Haul:-
So as we pray The Lord’s prayer and request, “give us this day our daily bread.” (Matthew 6:11) Knowing that He will meet and supply our physical and spiritual needs, out of His Riches in Glory. (Philippians 4:19)
Soul Food For The Maturing Of Our Lives:-
Paul’s Inspired advice to Timothy, in the last letter that he wrote prior to his death, includes, “Continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:14-17)
King David found God gave him soul food for his times of Battle; for life over the long haul; for the maturing of his life. That’s why he made the statement to Him, “I will not neglect Your Word!”
King David would encourage us, in these days of battle; the long haul; and maturing that we too would be those who feed on God’s Word, meditate upon it, stand upon it and live by it. Let’s covenant with The Lord, “I will not neglect Your Word!”
Every Blessing, Pastor Nigel
